Simon and Jude, Apostles

Simon the Zealot and Jude are both listed in the New Testament as being among The Twelve Disciples. According to tradition, Simon travelled to Egypt as a missionary before joining Jude in Persia and then Armenia where they worked together. They are said to have been martyred c. 65AD in Beirut.

Almighty God,
who built your Church upon the foundation
of the apostles and prophets,
with Jesus Christ himself as the chief cornerstone:
so join us together in unity of spirit by their doctrine,
that we may be made a holy temple acceptable to you;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
